Kick off meeting for 2018-2019

Date:
Tuesday, September 4

Welcome back to another year of Scouting.

Attached are many of the documents/info for Tuesday night’s troop program kick off meeting.  All Troop families should have a parent in attendance with their son.

Troop Assistance.  I have attached a list of the roles of the various Troop Committees as well as Assistant Scoutmasters.  We need every family to commit to assisting the Troop in some way.  I need a couple of folks to step up as Assistant Scoutmasters to help at Troop Meetings, as well as members on most of the Committees listed in the document.  We can also use more Merit Badge Counselors to work with the Scouts at meetings.  Many of the active parents have sons who are juniors or seniors in High School – or whose son graduated from the Troop.  We also need more parents on many of the trips.  We need the next generation of parents to get involved to keep the Troop program and activities at the quality & level that they are.

Saco Canoe Trip Forms – Due by Sept 10th

BSA Medical Form – I Do Not Need another copy if you went to Resolute with the Troop or to Phil-Not or Mexico.  I have them.  Everyone else I need an updated health form – does NOT need to be signed by the doctor.

Troop Clothing Order Form – we have all these things available.  Here is your chance to buy it.

Code of Conduct – Please review with your son and bring to the meeting on the 4th.

Activity Consent Form – Please complete and bring on the 4th.

Troop Dues Info.  Same as in 2017/2018.  Please bring a check, made payable to: Troop 185 Wellesley.

Scout & Parent Participation Form – Look at your calendars and get the trips on it that you want to attend.  Bring these on the 4th.

Alaska – July 20 to Aug 4, 2019.  Updated permission Form.  The Crew is not going to involved at this time, just the Troop.

Nantucket – week long – Aug. 17 to 24, 2019.  We will be running our own Camp on Nantucket.  Kayaking, Biking, Orienteering, Art, Environmental Science are some of the badges we plan on offering (others will depend on adults who go)

I look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday.
