Does this sound familiar?

This letter from a grateful scouting parent seems almost too good to be true, but maybe you will recognize a bit of your own family in it:  http://netcommish.com/AskAndy240.asp .  As John says, this is what Scouting is all about and why we all do it.

Order of the Arrow (OA) Events

The OA will be conducting its Spring Ordeal the weekend of May 13–15th at Camp Resolute. Those who were elected need to register at www.chippanyonk.org if they have not done so yet. Scouts who are already in the Lodge are strongly encouraged to attend as well—you can also register thru the website. John will be running the kitchen that weekend and hopes to see a large turnout from the Troop. This is also where the Lodge elects its new Chief and officers.

OA Lodges from across New England will be gathering at Hidden Valley Scout Reservation the weekend of June 10–12 at their annual Conclave. Chippanyonk Lodge will be sending a large contingent as we prepare to host the event next June at Camp Resolute. A Conclave consists of activities, training sessions, patch trading, ceremonies and lots of fun. If you have never been to one (and none of our Scouts have) you are strongly urged to register.  (Complete the on-line form, print it, get your parents to sign, and mail with a check and a copy of your BSA medical form to the Lodge at the Council office.)  John plans on attending and hopes many of you can make it as well. Space is limited, so sign up soon.
