Tree Sale 2011

Our annual tree sale will take place Friday through Sunday, December 9 through 11, at 888 Worcester Street (next to St. James on Route 9).  The hours are 4–8 on Friday, 8–8 on Saturday, and 9:30–5 on Sunday.

Updated Tuesday, 12/6:  we discussed these Guidelines and Information about the trees at Monday's meeting. You should also have received them by e-mail.

We need all Scouts to help on Wednesday, December 7th after the early release to get the trees unwrapped. This is critical, and we need some parents to help car pool them to the site. Please sign up for that time as well. The more people we have, the faster that will go.  We expect the trees to arrive between noon and 1:00 PM.

We also need help getting the stands from Nobscot and setting them up on Saturday from 9 to 1. Please email John if you can help.


Believe it or not, the annual Christmas Tree Sale is right around the corner! We need your full participation in the setup and sale of Christmas trees to make this a successful fundraiser for the troop. We have made a few changes from the last few years. The shifts will be three hours and will overlap with other shifts so there will be continuous coverage. Every scout and parent will need to volunteer for at least one three-hour shift. This is an event where parent volunteers are needed to use the saw as well as assist in putting trees on car/sub's roofs. The scouts are not allowed to use the saw. We have a large group this year, so if every parent and scout participates we should be in good shape.

Tree sales hours are:

Friday, December 9, 2011
4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, December 10, 2011
8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday, December 11, 2011
9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to the sales hours we need volunteers for setup as well as teardown. The setup times are Thursday, Dec 8th, and Friday, Dec 9th in the afternoons. The teardown and cleanup is on Sunday, Dec 12th from 4 to 7 p.m. These times are on the calendar and we do need volunteers to help out.

This year to make it easier we have used the web tool My SignUp for the troop to volunteer for the time slots. The link is http://www.mysignup.com/treesale.

If you cannot make your scheduled time you need to find a replacement and inform Ms. Connelly of the change so she can update the calendar. Please let's not have any no shows.

The calendar is available until Wednesday, Dec 6th, for signup. If you have not provided Ms. Connelly with a date and time, one will be designated for you.
